Dave Dornfeld

Founder, President & Owner
Master Electrician - CLMC, LC

As the founder and President of Timberlyn, Dave started this journey more than 40 years ago. His experience and expertise evolved into a multi-office operation that serves some of the nation’s largest companies. Dave continues to raise the bar within the lighting industry with several designations, expecting nothing less than consistent results and competitive spirits.

Joy Dornfeld

Corporate Officer
& Owner

As the heart of Timberlyn, Joy supports all roles within the company. Joy’s bachelor’s degree in Business Education has aided in Timberlyn’s growth and ensures the highest safety and compliance standards, risk management, and competitive benefits for our employees.

Jim Gartner

Vice President & Owner

As Vice President, Jim also serves as our Sales Manager throughout the recent growth of Timberlyn.  He is an Electrical Engineer who also holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master Electrician license.  Beyond his titles, Jim operates as our expert in facilities engineering, sales, and supply chain management.

Nikki Gartner

Accounting Manager & Owner

Nikki has an Accounting degree from Loras College and an MBA from the University of Dubuque.  Her education combined with two plus decades of experience in various accounting roles has created a foundation for Timberlyn’s Accounting Department. Nikki serves on leadership committees for her local parish and school while she continues to support all things Timberlyn as she updates and perfects company processes.

Christopher L. Slover

Director of Operations & Owner

Chris is Timberlyn’s Director of Operations with more than a decade of business operations and strategic planning. Starting in 2006 as a green hand, Chris has held many roles on his path to partner and Director of Operations. Chris is NABCEP certified and has been integral to leading our Solar Installation division’s management and development.

William Ornelas

Operations Manager – Illinois Office

William began his journey with Timberlyn back in 2012 as a Field Lighting Technician. William has worked on a diverse range of re-lamp and LED upgrades before taking a leadership role. William’s current role is Operations Manager. William has worked to streamlining processes and utilizing controls to obtain consistency.

Luis A. Lagunas

Operations Manager – Texas Office
Master Electrician

Luis is Timberlyn’s Operations Manager for the growing Texas office with over 10 years of in-field commercial and industrial electrical experience. Luis’ continues to broaden his horizons, starting as an apprentice before earning a journeyman license and overseeing jobs to later earning his master electrician license and gaining experience as a project manager and electrical estimator and everything in between.

Nicholas Devers

Senior Project Manager

Nick began with Timberlyn nine years ago as a lighting technician and now fills our leading project manager role. His focus has always been to ensure client satisfaction as he leads his crews in the field. Through daily communication with our teams, Nick ensures that all projects are completed with top-notch results.

Adam Lord

Project Manager

Adam spent over eight years in the field, with the majority of those years as a crew leader for Timberlyn Lighting. Adam’s expertise in lighting originates from his hands-on experience in the field. As a Project Manager, Adam is driven by perfection and committed to ensuring the success of every project he leads. Before joining Timberlyn, Adam served in the United States Air Force as an aerospace maintenance mechanic.

Alexis M. Jodts

Accounts Payable

Alexis started with Timberlyn at the beginning of 2020 as their bookkeeper.  She is responsible for processing payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.  Alexis graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy in 2013.  Before coming to Timberlyn, she worked in real estate appraising and volunteered in non-profit bookkeeping. 

Alexis looks forward to growing in the position while helping Timberlyn grow.


Kimberly Frank

Office Assistant

Kim has been with Timberlyn for over a decade and has worked on numerous projects over the years.  She has maintained being a part of our Kohl’s team since the project’s conception in 2005.  Kim is the face and voice here at Timberlyn. You’ll see and hear from her first as she greets all visitors, sends correspondence and invoices, orders materials, and supports all Timberlyn projects.

Vickie Bartz

Project Administrator

Vickie has been with Timberlyn for over two decades.  She has held multiple roles throughout her tenure.  In coordination with our Project Managers, Vickie ensures crews are well informed and prepared to support our core value, “We Deliver on Promises.”  She continues to support other departments through invoicing and networking with our clients.

Daniel Engstrom

Field Development Manager (Lighting & Solar)
CALT, OSHA certified

Dan is a seasoned veteran with 20 years of experience. He has been an integral part of Timberlyn’s field employees’ development and continues to raise the bar daily. His expertise has come from having his boots on the ground, and his drive is like nothing you have ever seen before. Dan thrives on ensuring every project he touches, whether big or small, gets the attention it deserves.

Jacob Anderson

Project Manager - Solar

Jacob is responsible for completing site evaluations, delivering site proposals, and managing solar installation projects. Jacob graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy in 2020. His analytical skills combined with a solid technical background are very useful in the solar field. Jacob looks forward to growing in the position while helping Timberlyn grow in the solar industry.
